Isla de las Munecas (The Island of Dolls)

If you are not a fan of creepy dolls, then this place is not for you. In the canals of Xochimico, Mexico lies the scariest attraction in the country: The Island of Dolls. The island itself is mysterious, but the story goes that a man named Don Julian Santana found the body of a drowned child in the canal. He later saw a doll floating by in the canal and decided to hang it on a tree to please the girl as he was haunted by her death. It became a habit and he continued to do this to appease her “tortured soul” and protect the island from further evil. This story took a particularly sinister turn in 2001 when Santana drowned in the canal just like the little girl.
The Door To Hell
In the small town of Darvaz, Turkmenistan there is a place called “The Door To Hell.” Forty-two years ago, geologists were drilling for gas when then encountered a very large cavern underground filled with a poisonous gas. They ignited the gas expecting it to burn off in a few hours. The gas is still burning to this day. The 525-feet in diameter and 65-feet deep was not caused by volcanic activity or a meteor impact. It is not hard to understand why they called this the door to hell.
