The creature had elongated limbs and wet, matted fur. When Ranger Cole began to suspect what it might be, he blurted out a shocked, “Oh my gosh.” He held his position, waiting to catch a glimpse of its face to be certain.

The animal slowly turned its head, and when Cole spotted the creature’s long, sharp claws, his heartbeat quickened. Could this thing be dangerous?

With the creature now almost fully emerged from the water, Cole could finally identify what he was dealing with. Realizing he couldn’t handle the situation alone, he immediately contacted 911 for backup.
