Kids have a way of turning the most mundane things into a mischievous adventure. They have the whole beach to explore, sandcastles to make and waves to splash in.Instead, though, they’re choosing to take a peek at someone who’s clearly trying to have a peaceful moment rinsing off all that pesky sand. Hey—at least we can give props to their parents for making sure they’re totally protected from the sun.

Tanning at the beach is practically a science. It requires a strict routine of sunscreen reapplication and regular rotation to avoid those dreaded uneven tan lines. This person clearly wanted to keep their face covered from the sun, but at what cost?With their head awkwardly shoved through a pair of shorts, they may have protected their face, but they’re definitely making a unique fashion statement. Who knew that tan lines could drive us to such innovative—or should we say desperate—measures?
