They Were Just Digging at Home Until the Nightmare Revealed Itself

A Lucky Find…

In 2013, a 51-year-old Illinois man was picking broccoli from his yard when he dug up a nylon bag. Inside it, he found the biggest surprise of his life: $150,000 in cash.

Though Wayne Sabaj was unemployed and strapped for money, he made a point to inform the police about his find, while stipulating that if no one came forward, he’d claim the cash for himself. Fair enough. A little while later, Sabaj’s elderly neighbor, who had dementia, said that she was the one who had buried the money – because it was cursed. A likely story, right?

…But the Money Was Indeed Cursed

Sadly, the elderly neighbor may have been onto something. Just before Sabaj and his elderly neighbor were due to split the cash in a settlement, each of them suddenly died. It is believed that Sabaj died of complications related to diabetes.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, upon learning of Sabaj’s death, the man’s father suffered a cardiac arrest, and had to be hospitalized. Now, of course, this is probably all just a series of coincidences, but they’re awfully creepy coincidences, nonetheless.
